About This Role

We are seeking an English-fluent AI/RAG Engineer based in Latin America to join our team on a remote basis. This is a pivotal role for engineers passionate about artificial intelligence, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and building production-grade AI systems that solve real-world business problems.

You will work with someone who demonstrates exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, embraces change while maintaining strong attention to detail, and is constantly learning and improving. This role requires a proactive professional committed to technical excellence and collaborative problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and implement scalable AI integration patterns including RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, MCP tools, structured extraction, summarization, and compliance intelligence that can be reused across the platform
• Design and deliver production-grade AI-powered features embedded within mission-critical procurement workflows, including internal tooling
• Define and implement evaluation frameworks for observability and guardrails to ensure model quality, cost governance, security, and compliance
• Partner with architecture leadership to evolve legacy monolithic platforms toward more modular, service-oriented capabilities
• Establish engineering standards for AI systems, including testing strategies, prompt and version management, model lifecycle practices, and performance monitoring
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, UX, and domain subject matter experts (internal and external) to ensure AI solutions address real user problems
• Contribute to architectural reviews and technical design sessions to ensure alignment with long-term platform modernization goals
• Leverage AI tools and platforms to seek efficiencies in your engineering workflow and processes
• Produce clear technical documentation to support maintainability and knowledge sharing across teams

Required Qualifications

• 3–5 years of software engineering experience with demonstrated exposure to AI/LLM-based solutions
• Hands-on experience with LLM integrations such as RAG, prompt engineering, summarization, or structured data extraction
• Proficiency in Python, Node.js, or similar languages with proven experience building APIs and scalable services
• Cloud platform experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Familiarity with vector databases or retrieval systems including Pinecone, FAISS, or similar technologies
• Solid understanding of modular or service-oriented architectures and microservices design patterns
• Production experience with monitoring, logging, and system performance optimization in live environments
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Fluent English communication for effective remote collaboration with global teams
