As a UX Designer in this role, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing user interfaces and experiences for digital retail applications, point-of-sale systems, and electronic shelf labeling platforms. You'll work collaboratively with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into compelling, functional designs that enhance the shopping experience for both retailers and consumers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct user research and usability testing to validate design concepts and gather actionable insights
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups using industry-standard design tools
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, and marketing to ensure design feasibility and alignment
  • Develop and maintain design systems and component libraries for consistency across digital touchpoints
  • Iterate on designs based on user feedback, analytics, and business metrics
  • Stay current with retail technology trends, best practices in UX design, and emerging digital retail solutions
  • Present design concepts and recommendations to internal stakeholders and external clients
  • Ensure accessibility standards and compliance with WCAG guidelines across all digital products

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional UX design experience, preferably in retail, e-commerce, or digital media applications
  • Proficiency with industry-standard design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar platforms
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating UX design work, user research capabilities, and design thinking methodology
  • Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, usability best practices, and accessibility standards
  • Experience with wireframing, prototyping, and interaction design
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate design decisions to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing for point-of-sale (POS) systems or retail technology solutions
  • Familiarity with electronic shelf label (ESL) systems or digital signage platforms
  • Knowledge of user research methodologies including interviews, surveys, and usability testing
  • Experience with design handoff and collaboration with development teams
  • Understanding of retail operations and customer journey mapping in retail environments
  • Experience with responsive design and multi-device optimization
