About This Role
BambooHR is seeking a Principal Software Architect to define our technical strategy for intelligent product experiences. You'll architect and guide the delivery of AI-powered capabilities that are secure, reliable, observable, and maintainable at scale—balancing modern AI capabilities with sound software engineering principles. This remote position is available in Arizona, Idaho, Texas, Utah, and Washington.
Key Responsibilities
- Build reliable AI systems in production, including prompt and version management, evaluation and regression testing, monitoring for drift and quality issues, and cost-performance optimization
- Define technical vision and strategy for AI integration across BambooHR products
- Lead architecture decisions that balance innovation with engineering excellence
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable AI-powered features
- Mentor and guide engineering teams on modern AI and software architecture practices
- Write code and contribute hands-on to critical systems
