The Role: Software Engineer, Enterprise Custody

Blockstream is seeking experienced Software Engineers to design and maintain scalable end-to-end systems for our enterprise custody solution. You'll work across the full technology stack—from database architecture to cloud-based deployments—developing robust APIs and SDKs that power next-generation Bitcoin infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable end-to-end systems serving APIs and SDKs
• Perform full-stack software development, from database architecture to cloud deployment
• Optimize system performance and security to support high-availability applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including front-end developers, product managers, and hardware engineers
• Implement best practices in software development: CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and code reviews
• Research and integrate emerging technologies to enhance security and system efficiency
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues in a fast-paced environment
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to team knowledge-sharing initiatives

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-stack software development experience with backend engineering focus
• Proficiency in backend technologies: C++, Python, Rust, or Node.js
• Strong experience designing and building RESTful APIs and SDKs
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Deep understanding of database technologies: SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis)
• Familiarity with blockchain or cryptocurrency concepts
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to security best practices
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
