The Role

We are seeking a Vice President of Consumer Products to lead sales, marketing, and business development for Blockstream's consumer-oriented portfolio. This senior leadership position will drive go-to-market execution, build new distribution channels, and ensure the profitability and growth of our consumer products. Reporting directly to executive leadership, you will be responsible for strategy, execution, and cross-functional coordination to ensure Blockstream continues to lead the industry in consumer-facing Bitcoin adoption.

This role involves close collaboration with the Chief Marketing Officer and requires working from our Menlo Park office 2-3 days per week, with flexibility for remote work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales and Business Development: Lead all sales and business development activities for consumer products, expanding adoption and market share across target segments.
  • Pricing Strategy: Define and implement pricing models aligned with profitability targets and long-term growth objectives.
  • Channel Development: Build new sales channels and affiliate programs to broaden reach and distribution networks.
  • Demand Generation: Partner with marketing to drive growth initiatives that generate demand, leads, and conversions for consumer products.
  • Brand Awareness: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create awareness of consumer products through PR, marketing campaigns, partnerships, and technical evangelism.
  • Product Input: Serve as a primary source of market and customer requirements to guide product enhancements and new offerings.
  • Strategic Alignment: Partner with engineering, product, marketing, and business development teams to align product, brand, and market strategies.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Execute additional responsibilities as needed to support the success and growth of the consumer business unit.

What We're Looking For

  • Leadership Experience: Proven track record leading sales, marketing, or business development teams at scale in fast-growing technology or fintech companies.
  • Go-to-Market Expertise: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute comprehensive go-to-market strategies that drive adoption and revenue growth.
  • Consumer Product Knowledge: Strong understanding of consumer product dynamics, distribution channels, and customer acquisition strategies.
  • Bitcoin and Crypto Fluency: Genuine passion for Bitcoin and understanding of blockchain technology, cryptocurrency markets, and self-custody solutions is highly valued.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop long-term strategies while executing short-term objectives with measurable KPIs.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: Comfort operating in a fast-moving industry with appetite for innovation and calculated risk-taking.
