About This Role
Software Mind is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join our team on a 6-month project engagement. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to contribute to strategic business initiatives in a fully remote environment. You will work with stakeholders across multiple departments to gather requirements, analyze business processes, and deliver actionable insights that drive organizational success.
As a Business Analyst with Software Mind, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams. This contract-based position offers flexibility while providing meaningful work on high-impact projects that influence business outcomes and digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Requirements Gathering & Analysis: Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify, document, and prioritize business requirements. Conduct interviews, workshops, and process mapping sessions to understand current state operations and desired future state improvements.
- Process Improvement: Analyze existing business processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend data-driven solutions. Document process flows using industry-standard tools and methodologies.
- Stakeholder Management: Serve as a liaison between business units and technical teams. Maintain clear communication channels, manage expectations, and ensure all parties remain aligned throughout the project lifecycle.
- Documentation & Reporting: Create comprehensive documentation including business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, use cases, and process documentation. Deliver regular status reports and insights to project sponsors.
- Solution Design Support: Contribute to the design phase by translating business needs into technical requirements. Participate in solution design reviews and provide feedback on proposed approaches.
- Testing & Validation: Develop test cases based on business requirements and support user acceptance testing (UAT). Validate that solutions meet documented business objectives.
- Change Management: Assist in change management activities, including impact analysis and communication planning for process or system changes.
- Data Analysis: Analyze business metrics and data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks. Present findings and recommendations through dashboards and visual reports.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar analytical role (3+ years minimum)
- Strong understanding of business process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar)
- Proficiency in requirements management tools and documentation practices
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Superior written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders at all organizational levels
- Comfortable working in a fully remote environment with self-management capabilities
- Experience with project management tools and agile methodologies is a plus
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Background in software development, IT operations, or financial services sectors
- Experience with SQL or data query languages for business intelligence
- Familiarity with enterprise systems (ERP, CRM) and their business applications
- Experience using tools such as Jira, Confluence, Visio, or similar platforms
- Knowledge of workflow automation and business process management (BPM) tools
- Certification in business analysis (CCBA, CBAP) or project management (PMP, PRINCE2)
