The Role: AI Engineer

As an AI Engineer at Cresteo, you'll be far more than a developer. You'll be instrumental in transforming the tech industry through our honest, transparent, and people-centric approach. This is a diverse and dynamic role where you'll develop and maintain cutting-edge AI-powered software solutions across a varied technology stack.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Building and maintaining production-grade LLM applications using Python, FastAPI/Flask, and modern AI frameworks
• Designing and implementing RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines for enhanced AI capabilities
• Developing AI agents and agentic workflows using orchestration frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, or OpenAI Agents SDK
• Creating backend APIs and services that seamlessly integrate with cloud and enterprise operational systems
• Implementing structured information extraction workflows and agent-based solutions
• Ensuring products are functional, efficient, reliable, and scalable across production environments
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that align with our people-first values

What We're Looking For

Core Technical Requirements:

• At least 2+ years of production experience building LLM applications
• Expert-level Python backend skills with proven production experience
• Strong proficiency with Python AI/ML frameworks: FastAPI, Flask, Pandas, NumPy, and SQL
• Hands-on experience with Azure AI services (Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search) or equivalent cloud AI platforms (AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI)
• Proven experience building and governing AI agents using Microsoft Copilot Studio or orchestration frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, OpenAI Agents SDK)
• Deep understanding of AI evaluation frameworks: hallucination control, prompt regression, latency optimization, cost management, and human-in-the-loop validation
• TypeScript proficiency and familiarity with .NET/C# environments
• Production experience with Docker and containerized deployments
• Strong foundation in API design and backend service architecture integrating with enterprise systems
