The Role: Data Engineer
As a Data Engineer at Cresteo, you'll be more than just a developer; you will be part of transforming the tech industry through our honest, transparent, and people-centric approach. Your role will be diverse and dynamic, instrumental in developing and maintaining our software solutions while working with a varied technology stack.

What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain modern data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, and data quality processes
- Work with cloud data platforms including Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, and BigQuery
- Build and optimize Power BI semantic models, including DAX calculations, tabular models, calculation groups, and row-level security implementations
- Develop stakeholder-facing dashboards and business intelligence solutions that drive decision-making
- Integrate AI systems with curated data layers and semantic models for enhanced analytics capabilities
- Collaborate with Microsoft Copilot Studio on data connectors and semantic layer integrations
- Manage database administration using SQL Server, Azure SQL, or equivalent relational systems
- Work closely with AI and platform engineering teams on critical data architecture decisions
- Implement ontology-style data modeling and knowledge structures optimized for AI consumption
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or modern BI platforms
- Strong hands-on expertise with at least one major cloud data platform (Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, or BigQuery)
- Deep knowledge of Power BI semantic modeling, including DAX, tabular models, calculation groups, and row-level security
- Demonstrated experience designing and maintaining modern data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows
- Strong SQL skills and proficiency using Python for data engineering and analytics workflows
- Experience integrating AI systems with curated data layers and semantic models
- Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot Studio data connectors and semantic layer integrations
- Database administration experience using SQL Server, Azure SQL, or equivalent relational database systems
- Understanding of ontology-style data modeling and knowledge structures for AI consumption
- Ability to build stakeholder-facing dashboards and business intelligence solutions
- Strong collaboration skills with AI and platform engineering teams on data architecture
