About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Director, Product Management to join our Product team and report directly to the VP of Product & Design. In this leadership role, you will serve as the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for core platform initiatives that expand reach, usability, and customer value. You'll drive our product organization toward a more strategic, data-informed, and customer-centric approach while ensuring clear direction, consistent execution, and strong feedback loops between customers and our roadmap.

This position balances hands-on product strategy with team leadership, enabling product managers to drive measurable business outcomes while fostering a culture of curiosity, accountability, and cross-functional excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of 4+ product managers, providing clear expectations, growth opportunities, and professional development
  • Define product strategy and planning for key platform areas, translating customer needs and business objectives into actionable roadmaps
  • Drive prioritization and clarity, enabling teams to make informed tradeoffs between user value, business impact, and technical investment
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with Design, Engineering, and Go-to-Market teams to deliver initiatives that move core metrics
  • Establish product rituals and processes including reviews, retrospectives, and planning sessions to promote alignment, consistency, and focus
  • Champion data-informed decision making, guiding product managers to integrate qualitative and quantitative insights throughout development
  • Build product maturity organization-wide, defining frameworks, standards, and best practices that elevate Customer.io's PM discipline
  • Create a culture of trust and empowerment that encourages experimentation, curiosity, and bias for action

What We're Looking For

You bring demonstrated experience leading product teams at growth-stage or enterprise technology companies. You excel at balancing strategic vision with tactical execution, and you're comfortable operating in ambiguity while driving clarity for your organization. Your track record shows success in defining and communicating product strategy, mentoring high-performing PMs, and collaborating effectively across engineering, design, and commercial teams.

You are data-driven, customer-obsessed, and committed to building products that deliver measurable business value. Your communication skills enable you to influence stakeholders at all levels, and you model accountability while empowering your team to own outcomes.
