Turnitin LLC is seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Business Intelligence & Analytics to lead our analytics function and drive data-driven decision-making across the organization. This is a strategic leadership role designed for a senior professional with deep expertise in business intelligence, data analytics, and team management.
About the Role
As Director of Business Intelligence & Analytics, you will be responsible for establishing and executing the company's analytics strategy, building and leading a high-performing analytics team, and partnering with executive leadership to translate complex data into actionable business insights. This role reports directly to senior management and plays a critical part in shaping the company's data culture and competitive positioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive business intelligence and analytics strategy aligned with company objectives and market opportunities
- Team Building & Development: Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of data analysts, engineers, and specialists; foster a culture of excellence and continuous learning
- Data Infrastructure: Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of robust data pipelines, data warehouses, and analytics platforms that support enterprise-scale operations
- Dashboard & Reporting: Create and maintain executive dashboards, KPI frameworks, and performance metrics that drive organizational visibility and accountability
- Advanced Analytics: Lead initiatives in predictive analytics, machine learning, and statistical modeling to uncover growth opportunities and optimize business performance
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate cross-functionally with product, finance, marketing, operations, and customer success teams to understand analytical needs and deliver actionable insights
- Data Governance: Establish data quality standards, governance frameworks, and security protocols to ensure data integrity and compliance
- Budget Management: Manage analytics department budgets, tool selections, and resource allocation to maximize ROI
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or related fields
- 5+ years in a leadership or senior management capacity, leading teams of 5+ members
- Advanced proficiency with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar) and SQL
- Strong background in data warehouse design, ETL processes, and data modeling
- Proven expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and modern data architectures
- Experience with Python, R, or other programming languages for statistical analysis and modeling
- Demonstrated ability to translate business problems into analytical solutions
- Exceptional communication skills; ability to present complex data insights to non-technical executives
- Experience in SaaS, EdTech, or enterprise software environments is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)

- Master's degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, or MBA
- Experience with machine learning frameworks and deployment
- Knowledge of product analytics and user behavior analysis
- Background in financial or operational analytics
