About the Role

The American Institutes for Research (AIR) Corporate Finance Office is seeking a Finance Associate to join its forward-thinking and supportive team. This crucial position is responsible for providing in-depth financial analysis, reporting, and strategic guidance to support government contracts. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of government contracting practices, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to clearly communicate complex financial data to stakeholders.

Reporting to the Senior Financial Analyst, you will ensure close collaboration with multiple departments to maintain financial accuracy, ensure regulatory compliance, and achieve key financial goals. Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning, Analysis and Reporting: Develop comprehensive financial analyses, forecasts, and reports to support government contract management and strategic decision-making
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis of government contracts to ensure profitability and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Prepare and maintain financial documentation, reconciliations, and audit trails for government contracts
  • Monitor contract performance against budgets and provide variance analysis and recommendations
  • Support the development of financial policies and procedures aligned with government contracting standards
  • Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to gather financial data and requirements
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements within the contracting finance function
  • Maintain knowledge of government contracting regulations, including FAR and DFARS compliance requirements
