About the Role
We are hiring a Director of Engineering to build a best-in-class engineering department during a moment of rapid growth. The engineering team has more than doubled in the last year and continues to expand. This is a fully remote position with direct management of team members across East Africa Time to US Pacific Time zones.
Key Requirements
- Must overlap with East Africa Time by at least 3 hours daily (e.g., available for 8AM–7AM ET meetings depending on season)
- Ability to manage distributed engineering teams across multiple time zones
- Strategic leadership experience building and scaling engineering departments
- Proven track record in organizational growth and team development
Location & Work Arrangement
Fully remote, but candidates must be authorized to work in their location without visa sponsorship. GiveDirectly is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of US or UK employment visas at this time.
