About the Role
Social Discovery Ventures is seeking an experienced HR Director / HR Business Partner to lead human resources strategy across our investment platform and portfolio companies. This is a strategic leadership position ideal for HR professionals who thrive in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments and want to make a meaningful impact across multiple organizations.
As HR Director / Business Partner, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive HR strategies that align with business objectives across our portfolio. You'll work closely with C-level executives, portfolio company leadership, and cross-functional teams to drive organizational development, talent acquisition, and people management initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute HR strategy and policies for the investment platform and portfolio companies
- Partner with portfolio company leadership to identify talent gaps, succession planning needs, and organizational development opportunities
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and talent management initiatives across multiple entities
- Manage compensation, benefits, and employee relations programs
- Oversee compliance with labor laws and regulations across different jurisdictions
- Drive employee engagement, retention, and culture initiatives
- Provide strategic HR advisory to executive leadership and board members
- Manage HR operations, including payroll, performance management, and employee records
- Build and mentor HR teams across portfolio companies
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of HR leadership experience, preferably in investment, venture, or portfolio management environments
- Proven track record in HR business partnering and strategic HR transformation
- Strong knowledge of employment law and international compliance requirements
- Experience managing HR across multiple companies or geographies
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with HRIS systems and HR analytics
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
