Role Overview
American Institutes for Research (AIR) seeks an experienced Managing Director to lead a portfolio of Medicaid policy and data analytics initiatives. You will provide executive leadership across multi-year projects involving Medicaid program analysis, data infrastructure development, and policy-relevant insights derived from administrative and claims data.
In this role, you will set the technical and strategic direction for Medicaid data analytics work, identify emerging analytic needs, shape new methodological approaches, and expand AIR's Medicaid analytics portfolio in response to evolving federal and state policy priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Oversight
- Set strategic direction for a portfolio of federal and state Medicaid policy and data analytics initiatives, spanning analytic design, data infrastructure, performance monitoring, and reporting
- Ensure alignment with evolving Medicaid program priorities and regulatory requirements
- Provide executive oversight across the full analytics lifecycle, guiding multidisciplinary teams on analytic conceptualization, data specification, and methodology
- Oversee data acquisition, management, and performance monitoring
- Deliver technical assistance (TA) and identify emerging analytic opportunities
Strategic Growth & Partnership
- Partner with senior leadership to pursue new opportunities and strengthen AIR's position as a leader in federal and state Medicaid analytics
- Drive innovation in analytic methodologies and data infrastructure approaches
- Expand the organization's Medicaid analytics capabilities and market presence
