About the Team

Metabase's Business Operations & Finance team is a small, high-leverage group that builds the systems keeping the company running smoothly behind the scenes. We cover a wide range of areas including finance and accounting, sales operations, legal operations, compliance, and account management. We treat all of these as flavors of operations, taking a systems-driven approach to design, build, and run processes—ideally automatically. Our goal is to free the rest of the company to focus on building great software.

The Role

We're seeking a high-powered generalist with strong verbal and analytical reasoning skills to own and run our commercial operations. In this role, you'll be responsible for the systems and processes that underpin how we contract with customers and manage commercial risk, helping us close deals efficiently and serve a broader range of customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage contracting processes and organize contract data to enable automation between systems
• Partner closely with internal teams and external counsel to make informed business decisions on risk management
• Lead key compliance initiatives, translating complex requirements into practical, scalable processes
• Own commercial operations strategy and execution end-to-end
• Build and maintain systems that support sales efficiency and customer success
• Balance big-picture strategic thinking with hands-on execution

About You

You're comfortable moving between high-level strategy and detailed execution. You enjoy turning ambiguous problems into working systems. You have strong analytical reasoning and communication skills, with the ability to work across departments and manage complex stakeholder relationships. You're self-directed, resourceful, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can have measurable impact.

This is a fully remote position open to candidates in the US and Canada. You'll work with a collaborative team that values systems thinking, efficiency, and thoughtful problem-solving.
