The Role
As a Staff Analyst in Operational Analytics & Reporting, you will play a critical role in driving data-informed decision-making across the organization. This position requires a strategic thinker who can translate complex operational data into actionable insights that impact business performance. You'll be responsible for designing and maintaining comprehensive reporting frameworks, developing advanced analytics solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize operational efficiency.
In this remote role based in the US, you will own the end-to-end analytics lifecycle—from data collection and validation through sophisticated analysis and stakeholder communication. Your work will directly influence product strategy, operational processes, and financial planning across Openly's expanding insurance platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain operational dashboards and reporting systems that provide real-time visibility into key business metrics and KPIs
- Conduct advanced statistical analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and optimization opportunities across operational processes
- Develop predictive models and forecasting tools to support capacity planning, resource allocation, and strategic decision-making
- Partner with product, claims, customer service, and finance teams to translate business requirements into analytics solutions
- Create compelling data visualizations and executive reports that communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Establish data quality standards, governance protocols, and best practices for operational reporting
- Perform ad-hoc analyses to answer urgent business questions and support strategic initiatives
- Continuously improve analytics infrastructure, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and insight depth
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional experience in operational analytics, business analytics, or data analysis roles
- Expert proficiency in SQL for complex data querying, transformation, and validation
- Advanced skills in data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or similar platforms)
- Strong statistical knowledge and experience with exploratory data analysis techniques
- Demonstrated ability to work with large, complex datasets and derive meaningful insights
- Excellent communication skills with ability to present findings to diverse audiences
- Experience in insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries is a plus
- Proficiency with Python, R, or other statistical programming languages is beneficial
