Job Description

About Ophelia

Ophelia is a venture-backed healthcare startup on a mission to make evidence-based treatments for opioid use disorder (OUD) accessible to everyone. We help people end their opioid use and restore their quality of life with respect for their time and dignity. Operating successfully across 14 states for nearly six years, our team includes physicians, scientists, entrepreneurs, researchers, and White House advisors backed by leading technology and healthcare investors. We're reimagining and rebuilding OUD treatment in America through our discreet, convenient, and affordable telehealth platform.

About the Role

As an Advanced Practice Practitioner (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant), you'll be a critical member of our care team, providing clinical care to patients receiving FDA-approved medications for opioid use disorder and treating a focused suite of mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, and insomnia.

You'll work collaboratively with other clinicians, triage nurses, and administrative care coordinators to deliver compassionate, evidence-based treatment. Our clinicians offer non-stigmatizing support, advocate for patients, and ensure appropriate care as patient needs evolve. Depending on your experience with medication-assisted opioid use disorder treatment (MOUD), you may conduct intake visits, follow-up visits, or both, operating within our team-based care model to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient intake and/or follow-up clinical visits via telehealth
  • Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to patients with OUD
  • Act as a clinical liaison and advocate for vulnerable populations
  • Collaborate within a team-based care model with clinicians, nurses, and coordinators
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as clinical needs evolve
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with telehealth regulations

Ideal Candidate Profile

You are a fit for this role if you:

  • Hold a current, active New York license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Have a genuine passion for serving vulnerable and underserved populations
  • Either possess previous experience caring for individuals with OUD, or are willing to learn the clinical skills required to provide MOUD via telehealth (no prior MOUD experience required—we provide comprehensive training)
  • Seek full-time work in a fast-paced, innovative startup environment that prioritizes patient-centered care
  • Are comfortable with flexible scheduling to support patient availability

Schedule & Work Environment

Patient care hours: Monday–Friday 9am–7pm, Saturday–Sunday 9am–5pm EST. We'll work with you to determine your ideal schedule within these hours. Weekend coverage is primarily provided by our most experienced providers. This is a fully remote role—work from anywhere with reliable internet connectivity.

You'll be part of a supportive, mission-driven team that values clinical excellence and genuine compassion for patients navigating opioid use disorder recovery.

💰 Compensation not publicly listed. Market estimate for similar roles: from $80K, varying by experience and location.
