Job Description

About Ophelia

Ophelia is a venture-backed healthcare startup transforming treatment for opioid use disorder (OUD) through evidence-based telehealth care. Operating successfully across 14 states for nearly six years, Ophelia combines FDA-approved medication with compassionate clinical support delivered through an innovative digital platform. The company is backed by leading technology and healthcare investors and led by physicians, scientists, entrepreneurs, and policy advisors committed to making OUD treatment accessible, discreet, convenient, and affordable for everyone.

About the Role

As an Advanced Practice Practitioner (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant), you will be a critical member of Ophelia's care team, providing evidence-based clinical care to patients receiving medication for opioid use disorder and a narrow suite of mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, and insomnia. You'll work collaboratively with fellow clinicians, triage nurses, and administrative care coordinators to deliver compassionate, patient-centered treatment.

This fully remote position offers flexible scheduling within our operating hours (Monday–Friday 9am–7pm, Saturday–Sunday 9am–5pm ET). Weekend coverage is available for experienced providers. You will have autonomy to design a schedule that works for your lifestyle while serving vulnerable populations who deserve dignified, non-stigmatizing care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive intake visits and follow-up appointments for patients with OUD
  • Provide direct clinical care for opioid use disorder and co-occurring mental health conditions
  • Act as a patient advocate and liaison, ensuring appropriate care as patient needs evolve
  • Collaborate within a team-based care model alongside other clinicians and support staff
  • Deliver compassionate, evidence-based treatment using telehealth technology
  • Document clinical encounters and maintain accurate patient records

Ideal Candidate Profile

You are:

  • A licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with a valid Pennsylvania license (or ability to obtain one)
  • Passionate about serving vulnerable and underserved populations
  • Either experienced in medication-assisted opioid use disorder treatment (MOUD), or eager and willing to learn clinical skills specific to telehealth-based MOUD delivery
  • Seeking full-time work in a fast-paced, innovative healthcare startup that prioritizes patient-centered care
  • Comfortable with remote work and self-directed patient management within a supportive team environment

No prior MOUD experience is required—Ophelia provides comprehensive training for clinicians new to opioid use disorder treatment.

Why Join Ophelia?

Work alongside experienced physicians and clinical leaders, benefit from structured support and mentorship, and maintain flexibility in a remote setting. Ophelia offers meaningful work that directly improves patients' lives and restores their dignity and quality of life.
