The Role
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Pharmacokinetic Scientist to join our Clinical Pharmacology team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled scientist to contribute to meaningful drug development work while enjoying the flexibility of remote work, with your team based at our Belfast, Northern Ireland site.
As a Pharmacokinetic Scientist, you will play a crucial role in advancing clinical research by conducting sophisticated analyses and supporting critical decision-making processes. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency of drug development timelines and help bring novel therapeutics to patients who need them.
Key Responsibilities
- Pharmacokinetic Data Analysis: Perform comprehensive analysis of pharmacokinetic (PK) data using industry-standard software and statistical methodologies. Interpret complex datasets to derive meaningful insights about drug absorption, distribution, metabolism, and elimination.
- Scientific Interpretation: Provide expert scientific interpretation of study results, with keen attention to regulatory requirements and clinical relevance. Synthesize findings into clear, actionable conclusions for stakeholders.
- Clinical Report Writing: Prepare high-quality scientific reports and regulatory documentation. Ensure all written materials meet rigorous standards for accuracy, clarity, and compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
- Client Interactions: Serve as a scientific liaison with pharmaceutical and biotech clients. Communicate findings effectively, address technical questions, and provide expert consultation on study design and data interpretation.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain meticulous attention to detail in all analyses and documentation. Participate in peer review processes and contribute to continuous improvement of analytical protocols.
- Regulatory Support: Support the preparation of regulatory submissions by ensuring pharmacokinetic data is presented in compliance with FDA, EMA, and other regulatory body standards.
Required Qualifications
- Full, permanent right to work in the UK: This is a mandatory requirement. You must be able to provide documentation of your eligibility to work in the United Kingdom without sponsorship.
- Master's degree or PhD in Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline
- Demonstrated experience with pharmacokinetic data analysis and modelling
- Proficiency with pharmacokinetic software (such as WinNonlin, Phoenix, or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of clinical pharmacology principles and regulatory frameworks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to explain complex scientific concepts clearly
- Experience working in a clinical research or pharmaceutical environment
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience with non-compartmental analysis (NCA) and compartmental modelling
- Familiarity with PKPD (pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic) analysis
- Knowledge of bioequivalence and bioavailability studies
- Previous experience in a CRO (Contract Research Organisation) setting
- Experience with regulatory submissions and drug development processes
