About the Role

As a Staff Product Engineer at Replit, you'll work at the intersection of product development and technical architecture, collaborating closely with product managers, designers, platform engineers, sales representatives, and fellow engineers. You'll shape the future of our platform and directly influence how tens of millions of users create software. This is a leadership-track position where technical excellence meets product impact.

What You'll Do

• Lead major initiatives: Take new products from concept to launch, owning technical strategy and execution across full product lifecycle
• Solve critical problems: Identify and address the hardest technical and quality challenges that impact platform scalability and user experience
• Set technical direction: Chart high-level architectural decisions and ensure projects align to deliver measurable results for millions of users
• Mentor senior talent: Develop and grow senior engineers on the team, building a stronger engineering culture
• Ship production features: Build infrastructure and user-facing features using TypeScript, React, CSS, GraphQL, Node.js, and PostgreSQL
• Work cross-functionally: Bridge engineering, product, and design to ensure features solve real user problems elegantly

Required Experience

• Minimum 7 years of professional software development experience
• Proven track record in a technical leadership role working cross-functionally
• Strong hands-on experience building full-stack applications with TypeScript
• Direct experience building and shipping features for end users
• Deep understanding of modern web development practices and scalable system design

Bonus Qualifications

• Passion for the future of programming with hands-on experience with IDEs, terminals, or developer tools
• Prior startup experience in cross-functional engineering roles
• Background in building developer-focused products or tools
