Rust Engineer, DeFi

About This Role

We're seeking superstar software engineers with a proven track record of shipping high-impact products, passionate about building the market data infrastructure that powers the future of decentralized finance. If you have deep Rust experience and love taking products from vision to reality, you'll feel right at home here. In this role, you'll build backend services, write smart contracts, create developer SDKs, enhance tooling and monitoring, and play a hands-on part in defining our product. A strong grasp of the DeFi landscape will help you spot opportunities and extend the boundaries of what's possible.

Your Responsibilities

• Engage in ideation, creation, and upkeep of both on-chain and off-chain Pyth-related projects, including smart contracts, SDKs, and utility programs.
• Influence our project's trajectory by working alongside business development and sales teams, shaping the future of finance.
• Elevate our team by mentoring junior engineers and setting high standards in software design and documentation.
• Connect with the developer community, understand their requirements, and craft SDKs, documentation, and tools tailored to their needs.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Minimum 4 years of software engineering experience with a portfolio of shipped products you're proud of.
• Expertise in Rust: Strong, demonstrated proficiency is strongly preferred for backend development and systems programming.
• Experience with smart contract development or blockchain technologies.
• Understanding of DeFi protocols, market data infrastructure, or financial systems.
• Proven ability to write clean, maintainable code and excellent technical documentation.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers or contributing to team growth.
• Familiarity with API design and developer experience optimization.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
