Senior Data Modeler (Snowflake) – Remote Position

About the Role

FusionConsulting is seeking an experienced Senior Data Modeler with deep expertise in Snowflake to join our growing data engineering team. This is a full-time remote position ideal for professionals who are passionate about designing scalable, efficient data architectures and optimizing cloud-based data warehousing solutions. You will take ownership of complex data modeling projects, mentor junior team members, and drive best practices across our data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced data models using Snowflake, including dimensional modeling, fact and dimension tables, and optimized schema design for analytical workloads
• Architect scalable cloud data warehouse solutions that support enterprise-level analytics and reporting requirements
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into robust data models
• Optimize query performance and data warehouse efficiency through advanced indexing strategies, partitioning, and Snowflake-specific tuning techniques
• Develop and maintain comprehensive data documentation including ERD diagrams, data dictionaries, and architecture specifications
• Lead code reviews and establish data modeling standards and best practices across the organization
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior data modelers and analysts on Snowflake fundamentals and advanced concepts
• Manage data quality initiatives and implement validation frameworks to ensure data accuracy and consistency
• Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to implement CI/CD pipelines for data models and maintain version control
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex data modeling issues, performance bottlenecks, and architectural challenges

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in data modeling and data warehouse design
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake, including schema design, performance optimization, and advanced SQL
• Expertise in dimensional modeling techniques (star schema, snowflake schema) and normalization best practices
• Strong proficiency in SQL with the ability to write complex queries and optimize performance
• Experience with ETL/ELT processes and tools (dbt, Apache Airflow, Talend, or similar)
• Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale data projects and work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Experience with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows

Preferred Qualifications

• Snowflake certification (Associate Data Engineer or higher)
• Experience with Python or other programming languages for data processing
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data services
• Background in agile development methodologies
• Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI
• Knowledge of data governance and metadata management practices
