Role Overview

We're standing up a brand-new editorial function at Loot Labs, and we're seeking a Senior Editorial Lead to establish and direct editorial strategy across every owned channel we operate — long-form content, video, social media, and community engagement. As Editor-in-Chief of our editorial function, you will ideate, plan, and direct the production of written, audio, and video content that positions Boxed.gg as the most engaging destination in the collectibles space.

Your primary mission is to build a virtuous loop: creating entertaining, informational, and engaging content that strengthens our organic search visibility, improves our SEO position against competitors, and drives community members from social channels back to Boxed.gg for deeper product engagement. You will manage our Social & Community Manager directly and partner closely with video production specialists, graphic designers, brand strategists, and communications colleagues. You'll also scale content output by coordinating with a bench of freelance writers, editors, and on-camera talent as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Editorial Leadership: Own the editorial vision, voice, and cadence across all owned blog, video, social media, and community channels. Define and maintain clear content pillars that articulate the type of content tailored to our target audiences.
  • Content Strategy & Planning: Develop comprehensive content calendars that align with product launches, seasonal trends, and community interests. Establish publishing cadence and content formats across platforms to maximize reach and engagement.
  • SEO & Organic Growth: Create content optimized for search engines that drives organic traffic to Boxed.gg. Work strategically to strengthen our competitive SEO position and pull community members from social channels to our core product experience.
  • Team Management: Directly supervise the Social & Community Manager and coordinate output from video production specialists, graphic designers, and freelance content creators. Build an efficient, collaborative editorial team.
  • Community Engagement: Foster meaningful conversation within the Boxed community across Discord, social platforms, and owned channels. Monitor community health, respond to feedback, and ensure content resonates with collector interests.
  • Content Production: Oversee the creation of diverse content formats including long-form articles, video scripts, social media posts, community discussions, and multimedia assets that tell compelling collector stories.
  • Performance Measurement: Establish KPIs for editorial performance. Track metrics including engagement rates, traffic attribution, SEO rankings, community growth, and product engagement driven by content initiatives.
  • Brand Voice Consistency: Ensure all content reflects Loot Labs' brand voice and values. Maintain consistency across channels while adapting messaging to platform-specific audiences.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of editorial leadership or content strategy experience, ideally in media, gaming, e-commerce, or entertainment sectors.
  • Proven track record building and scaling content teams from the ground up.
  • Deep understanding of SEO best practices and organic content strategy.
  • Experience managing social media strategy and community engagement at scale.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to juggle multiple content initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent writing and storytelling ability with demonstrated editorial judgment.
  • Experience with analytics tools and data-driven decision making for content strategy.
  • Passion for collectibles, gaming, entertainment, or community-driven products (a major plus).
  • Comfort working in a remote-first, autonomous environment with high ownership mentality.
  • Experience with video content production and multimedia storytelling.
