About This Role
FusionConsulting is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Project Manager specializing in Automation and Operational Technology (OT) Security to lead critical infrastructure modernization initiatives. This remote position offers the opportunity to drive transformational projects that enhance organizational security posture and operational efficiency across distributed teams and complex technical environments.
As a senior-level project manager, you will oversee end-to-end infrastructure automation projects with a strategic focus on OT security frameworks, risk mitigation, and compliance standards. You'll collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including engineering teams, security professionals, C-suite executives, and external vendors to deliver projects that protect critical assets and streamline operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Plan, execute, and oversee large-scale infrastructure automation and OT security initiatives from conception through deployment and post-implementation review
- Stakeholder Management: Communicate project status, risks, and outcomes to executives, technical teams, and external partners with clarity and precision
- Risk & Security Compliance: Identify and mitigate security risks specific to operational technology environments; ensure projects meet industry compliance requirements (NIST, IEC 62443, or equivalent standards)
- Budget & Resource Allocation: Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to deliver on scope while maintaining quality standards
- Automation Strategy: Work with infrastructure and security teams to design automation solutions that reduce manual interventions, improve reliability, and strengthen security posture
- Documentation & Process Improvement: Develop comprehensive project documentation, post-mortems, and lessons-learned reports to drive continuous improvement
- Vendor Management: Evaluate, negotiate, and manage relationships with technology vendors and external consultants
- Technical Acumen: Maintain hands-on understanding of infrastructure technologies, automation tools, and OT security best practices to make informed decisions
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of project management experience, with at least 3+ years managing infrastructure automation or OT security projects
- Strong knowledge of ITIL, PMP, or equivalent project management methodologies
- Demonstrable experience with infrastructure automation tools and frameworks
- Understanding of OT security principles, threat modeling, and compliance frameworks
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in technical and non-technical contexts
- Experience managing budgets exceeding $500K and cross-functional teams of 5+ members
- Ability to work independently and lead distributed teams in remote environments
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certification
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience with security frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework or IEC 62443
- Background in critical infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, or utilities sectors
- Knowledge of industrial control systems (ICS) or SCADA environments
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools and DevOps practices
