About This Role

As a Senior IT Project Manager specializing in SAP integration, you will be responsible for overseeing mission-critical integration projects that connect enterprise systems, applications, and third-party vendors. Your expertise in vendor management, combined with deep SAP knowledge, will be essential in ensuring seamless implementations and ongoing system optimization for pharmaceutical organizations.

This position demands a leader who can balance technical complexity with stakeholder management, ensuring projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Leadership: Lead end-to-end SAP integration projects from planning through deployment and post-implementation support
• Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with technology vendors, negotiate contracts, manage SLAs, and ensure vendor accountability and performance
• Integration Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive SAP integration strategies that align with pharmaceutical industry compliance requirements and best practices
• Stakeholder Communication: Serve as primary liaison between technical teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors; provide regular status updates and escalation management
• Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, particularly those related to system integrations and vendor dependencies
• Quality Assurance: Oversee testing protocols, validate integration functionality, and ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulatory standards (FDA, GxP, etc.)
• Resource Planning: Allocate resources effectively, manage project budgets, and optimize team productivity across distributed teams
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, integration specifications, and knowledge repositories for future reference

Required Qualifications

• SAP Integration Expertise: 7+ years of experience managing SAP implementations or integrations, with demonstrated success in complex enterprise environments
• Vendor Management: Proven track record of managing multiple vendors simultaneously, negotiating terms, monitoring performance, and resolving escalations
• Project Management Credentials: PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification; advanced project management methodology expertise
• Pharmaceutical Industry Knowledge: Experience working in or supporting pharma/life sciences organizations; understanding of regulatory compliance, GxP, and FDA guidelines
• Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of enterprise system architecture, APIs, middleware solutions, and data integration patterns
• Leadership Skills: Ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence without direct authority, and manage stakeholder expectations
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA implementations
• Knowledge of integration platforms such as SAP Integration Suite, MuleSoft, or Boomi
• Background in pharmaceutical supply chain, manufacturing, or quality systems
• Exposure to agile/hybrid project management methodologies
• Experience with systems thinking and business process optimization
