About Loot Labs

Loot Labs is on a mission to make collecting fun. We believe that every collectible tells a story: of passion, nostalgia, and discovery. Through our flagship product, Boxed.gg, we are reimagining how the world collects by blending digital entertainment with tangible rewards, delivering nostalgia and discovery straight to collectors' doorsteps.

As a rapidly growing company founded in 2023, Loot Labs has already achieved significant milestones:

  • Community First: We've served 500,000 collectors and fostered an active community of over 125,000+ Discord members
  • Ambitiously Led: Our leadership team includes veterans from Microsoft, Twitch, 2K, and Boeing
  • Remote-First Culture: We value high autonomy, low ego, and trust our team to build from anywhere in the world

Since our inception, we've experienced significant year-over-year growth. Now we're gearing up for our most ambitious year yet, with major expansions planned across product offerings, strategic partnerships, and next-generation collector experiences.

About the Role

We're seeking a Senior Product Designer to help shape and scale the core experience of Boxed.gg, a $50M+ collectibles platform where every product decision directly impacts revenue, retention, and user behavior.

This is a high-ownership individual contributor role that blends traditional product design with product strategy responsibilities. You will own the end-to-end user experience from discovery through execution, launch, and iteration while bringing cohesion, consistency, and intentionality to the product. You'll serve as the design system's evolver, a hands-on prototyper, and an embedded partner to Engineering, working in the trenches to solve problems in real time.

This position reports directly to the Creative Director and partners closely with the Head of Product, Engineering Manager, and broader Product & Engineering teams. You'll engage directly with users to validate ideas, understand behavior, and continuously improve the product experience. This is a high-ownership role suited for someone who moves quickly and uses data and user insight to inform decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end design of key product areas, including onboarding, loot box experiences, inventory systems, payments, and retention features
  • Translate product opportunities into user flows, prototypes, and high-quality designs that drive engagement and revenue
  • Partner closely with Engineering to solve problems in real time and ship quickly without compromising quality
  • Conduct user interviews, testing, and research to inform product decisions and validate design direction
  • Evolve and maintain the design system, ensuring consistency across the platform while enabling team velocity
  • Define success metrics and use data to continuously iterate on and improve user experiences
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align on product vision and strategy
  • Mentor junior designers and contribute to design culture and best practices

What We're Looking For

Experience & Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in product design, with proven success shipping consumer-facing products at scale
  • Deep expertise in interaction design, information architecture, and user research methodologies
  • Advanced proficiency in design tools (Figma, Prototyping, etc.) and ability to build high-fidelity prototypes
  • Strong understanding of design systems and ability to evolve them thoughtfully
  • Experience designing for mobile-first or app-based experiences
  • Fluency with data analytics and ability to make data-informed design decisions
  • Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design work, preferably in e-commerce, gaming, or consumer tech

Qualities & Mindset:

  • High ownership mentality with ability to move quickly and iterate based on feedback
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to thrive in a fast-growing startup environment
  • Passionate about user research and validation, not relying solely on assumptions
  • Strong communication skills and ability to articulate design rationale to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Collaborative mindset with genuine desire to partner with Engineering and Product
  • Curiosity about the collectibles/gaming space and understanding of collector psychology

Nice to Have

  • Experience designing loot box mechanics, gacha systems, or similar engagement features
  • Background in Web3 or NFT/digital collectibles space
  • Knowledge of fulfillment, logistics, or e-commerce operations
  • Experience with A/B testing and experimentation frameworks

Why Join Loot Labs

You'll be joining a team of accomplished leaders and talented builders who are passionate about transforming how people collect and engage with their favorite items. You'll have significant autonomy to shape product direction, direct impact on a platform serving 500,000+ users, and the opportunity to work on features that genuinely delight our community. Our remote-first culture means you can build from anywhere while accessing world-class mentorship and resources.

💰 Compensation not publicly listed. Market estimate for similar roles: from $110K, varying by experience and location.
