About the Role

We're seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Document Verification (DocV) backend engineering team. The DocV platform sits at the core of Socure's identity infrastructure, powering real-time document analysis, machine learning inference, and high-confidence decisioning at massive scale. This is an ideal opportunity for a technically strong, execution-driven leader who thrives at the intersection of architecture, delivery, and people leadership.

You will raise the bar on performance, reliability, and security while partnering closely with Product, Data Science, Infrastructure, and Security teams to transform complex problems into production-grade solutions that millions rely on daily.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a backend engineering team of 6–8 engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and technical excellence
• Own execution of backend initiatives aligned with the DocV product roadmap and business objectives
• Drive architectural decisions for distributed systems, APIs, and data pipelines supporting document ingestion, ML inference, and real-time decisioning
• Partner with Data Science teams to productionize computer vision and machine learning models in scalable, observable production environments
• Ensure system reliability by meeting strict requirements for latency, throughput, availability, and fault tolerance
• Establish best practices for code quality, testing, observability, security, and privacy compliance across the team
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Frontend, Mobile, Infrastructure, Security, and Product teams to deliver end-to-end features
• Anticipate challenges proactively—scaling, reliability, and operational concerns—driving solutions that reduce risk and execution friction
