About This Role
Software Mind is seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer L3 to join our telecommunications support team on a fully remote basis. This is a senior-level position ideal for a skilled professional with deep expertise in application support, telecommunications systems, and complex troubleshooting in production environments.
As an Application Support Engineer L3 (TSO), you will be responsible for providing advanced technical support to our telecommunications clients, managing critical incidents, and ensuring optimal performance of mission-critical applications. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams across multiple time zones.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 3 technical support for telecommunications applications and infrastructure
- Manage and resolve complex, high-priority incidents affecting production systems
- Conduct root cause analysis on recurring issues and implement permanent solutions
- Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot application-level problems
- Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential issues before they impact users
- Provide mentoring and guidance to junior support engineers
- Participate in on-call rotation for critical telecommunications systems
- Escalate issues appropriately and manage stakeholder communication during incidents
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in application support or telecommunications support roles
- Advanced troubleshooting skills across operating systems, networks, and applications
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure and protocols
- Experience with incident management and ticketing systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment with strong time management
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in telecommunications or networking (CCNA, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
- Background in specific telco technologies (5G, VoIP, Network Management)
- Previous experience working in international, distributed teams
