Turnitin LLC is seeking a talented and intellectually curious Social Research Intern for a remote summer internship in 2026. As a Social Research Intern, you will contribute to meaningful projects that directly impact how educational institutions approach academic integrity and student learning outcomes. You'll work alongside experienced researchers and product teams in a collaborative, innovation-driven environment where your ideas matter and your contributions create real value.
What You'll Do
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative social research to inform product development and strategy
- Design and execute research studies including surveys, interviews, and focus groups with academic stakeholders
- Analyze research data using statistical methods and qualitative analysis techniques
- Synthesize findings into clear, actionable insights for cross-functional teams
- Support the development of research methodologies and data collection instruments
- Contribute to literature reviews and competitive analysis within the education technology sector
- Participate in research presentations and documentation of findings
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and customer success teams to translate research into product improvements
Who You Are
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an undergraduate or graduate program in sociology, psychology, education, communications, human-computer interaction, or related field
- Strong quantitative and/or qualitative research skills with familiarity with research methodologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills
- Curiosity about human behavior, learning, and education systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team
- Comfortable using research tools and platforms (experience with Qualtrics, NVivo, or similar tools is a plus)
- Passion for educational equity and integrity
