Job Description

About This Role

The Wikimedia Foundation seeks an experienced Lead Product Partnerships Manager to expand the global reach of Wikipedia's products and knowledge in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. You'll serve as a front-facing representative for external partnerships where value is directly tied to product integration and new distribution opportunities for the Product and Technology (P&T) department.

This is a highly independent, self-directed position requiring existing, strong connections in the software and hardware tech space. You will cultivate relationships to grow Wikimedia content reuse in new products and spaces, while fostering increased adoption of Wikimedia attribution tools with existing partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • New Product & Technology Partnerships: Identify and secure partnerships with technology platforms. Collaborate with Product and Design teams to define and execute a portfolio of non-commercial value exchange partnerships, exploring new product development, integrations, data-sharing, and in-kind technical donations.
  • Attribution & Content Reuse: Design and pilot initiatives with high-priority Wikimedia content reusers to drive attribution visibility through the Wikimedia Attribution Framework and API.
  • Cross-Organizational Collaboration: Coordinate across teams (WME, Legal, Communications, Fundraising, Content Enablement, Community Resources & Partnerships) to build and maintain partner and opportunity pipelines. Represent P&T in partner ecosystem discussions.
  • Partnership Execution: Manage partnership processes including LOI/MOU drafting, CRM management, pitch deck creation, and coordination with departmental partners.
  • Industry Engagement: Attend conferences and industry events to represent organizational needs, gather intelligence on product and technology trends, and identify new partnership opportunities.

Position Details

  • Duration: 6-month fixed term contract
  • Hours: 40 hours per week (full-time)
  • Availability: Must be available for synchronous collaboration 15:00–20:00 UTC
  • Location: Remote, US-based

Ideal Candidate Profile

Key audiences include AI providers, social and EdTech platforms, and companies seeking product integration. You bring deep experience in partnership development, existing networks within tech ecosystems, and the ability to identify emerging opportunities that align with strategic organizational goals.
