About the Role
Accela is seeking a dynamic, business-minded attorney to drive the company's continued growth as a key legal partner to sales, business development, and partner teams. This fully remote role, based anywhere in the U.S., focuses exclusively on revenue-generating activity, direct sales, partner transactions, and services. You'll own the deal lifecycle and develop best-in-class sales and deal skills while serving as a trusted advisor across departments.
The ideal candidate has solid grounding in SaaS enterprise agreements, is results-driven, and thrives on scaling a global business. You will negotiate directly with customers and partners on a win-win basis and help accelerate revenue operations.
Responsibilities
- Partner closely with Sales, Business Development, and Services organizations to accelerate revenue operations and define best practices in contracting processes.
- Serve as primary point of contact and subject-matter expert for complex transactions including direct sales, resellers, ISVs, and global partners.
- Draft and negotiate SaaS agreements, partner and reseller agreements, software license and maintenance agreements, services agreements, and RFP responses.
- Coordinate with outside counsel and legal team members to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations across jurisdictions.
- Contribute to ad hoc company projects including M&A, compliance, and corporate initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience with hands-on work on SaaS enterprise agreements (direct sales, partner/channel, or services agreements).
- Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school.
- Active member in good standing of a U.S. State Bar.
- Self-driven, collaborative, and business-focused with a "team first" mindset.
- Strong desire to engage directly with customers and internal teams to negotiate win-win outcomes.
- Ability to quickly triage situations, think creatively, and drive transactions to close.
- Genuine enjoyment of complex deal-making and thrive working with diverse teams with professionalism and transparency.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with government technology (govtech) contracting.
Note: This role is fully remote with occasional travel required for team or company events.
