About the Role
Anduril Industries, a defense technology company transforming military capabilities through advanced AI and autonomy, seeks a Global Sourcing Manager, Mechanical to lead mechanical commodity sourcing (machining, sheet metal fabrication, and related services). This proactive, high-impact position secures critical components and materials powering next-generation defense systems. You'll develop new supplier partnerships, evaluate sourcing opportunities across cross-functional teams, and establish robust commercial agreements and intellectual property frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute commodity strategies for mechanical fabrication, prioritizing cost reduction, quality improvement, and supply chain resilience
- Own end-to-end delivery of quality parts on schedule and budget
- Lead RFI/RFQ/RFP and strategic sourcing processes for mechanical fabrication
- Manage business relationships with external Contract Manufacturers, ensuring supply continuity, risk mitigation, cost negotiation, and NPI-to-MP execution
- Partner with Engineering and Contract Manufacturers to influence technical design specifications and manufacturing requirements
- Perform detailed cost analysis and TCO-based evaluation of quote submissions, examining supply chain elements for data-driven decisions
- Support prototype requirements and build milestones while executing sourcing activities
- Influence Contract Manufacturers' processes, capital expenditure, and technology decisions
- Negotiate supplier agreements covering pricing, quality, flexibility, delivery, payment, warranty, and service terms
- Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve problems, negotiate tradeoffs, and advance new supplier offerings
- Provide technical direction for mechanical commodities throughout product lifecycle
- Lead operations for developing and adapting technologies for Anduril products
