Job Description
About This Role
As Support Engineering Manager at Ashby, you'll oversee a technically proficient team responsible for resolving complex product issues, supporting integrations and data workflows, and influencing product decisions through customer insights. This is not a traditional support management position—we're seeking someone with strong technical depth who can dive into complex systems and mentor others on sophisticated problem-solving.
You will:
- Manage a team of highly skilled Support Engineers focused on escalation, triage, and complex issue resolution
- Work closely with Engineering to refine escalation practices and define Support Engineering operations at Ashby
- Develop scalable processes and systems for technical triage, debugging, and proactive problem-solving
- Identify inefficiencies, eliminate friction, and drive high-leverage improvements pragmatically
- Build cross-functional partnerships between Support, Engineering, and Product teams
- Establish best practices and technical workflows as this is a newly defined function
- Guide the team's capability development and raise the technical bar quickly
What We're Looking For
You should be energized by moving fast, experimenting, and making pragmatic decisions with incomplete data. You naturally gravitate toward highest-leverage work, see inefficiency quickly, and take decisive action without over-engineering solutions. Strong instincts, systems thinking, and comfort with occasional failure in pursuit of velocity are essential.
