Position Overview
We're seeking an SEO Specialist to lead and execute organic search strategies across client accounts and Blacksmith's own digital presence. You'll drive traffic growth, improve rankings, and translate performance data into clear action plans. Working across diverse industries and site types, you'll collaborate with developers, designers, and strategists to integrate SEO into everything we build.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end SEO strategy for multiple clients, including technical, on-page, and off-page optimization
- Conduct in-depth SEO audits, competitive gap analyses, and keyword opportunity mapping
- Collaborate with designers and developers during strategy and build phases to ensure clean SEO implementation
- Create structured content strategies supporting UX and conversion goals
- Manage local SEO for clients with physical locations
- Track rankings, crawl health, Core Web Vitals, and conversions using Ahrefs, GA4, and Google Search Console
- Present findings and recommendations clearly to clients with PM support
- Run technical SEO audits using Screaming Frog and SEMrush with prioritized action steps
- Implement on-page updates directly in CMS platforms (primarily WordPress): meta tags, headers, alt text, internal links, and schema markup
- Conduct keyword research to identify primary and secondary targets for core pages and blog content
