Job Description

About Chainguard

Chainguard is the trusted source for open source, delivering hardened, secure, and production-ready builds of open source software that engineers and AI agents rely on. The company helps organizations build faster, stay compliant, and eliminate risk. Customers include Fortune 500 enterprises and global leaders such as OpenAI, Snowflake, Canva, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Chainguard is venture-backed by leading investors including Sequoia Capital, Kleiner Perkins, and Lightspeed Venture Partners.

The Role

Chainguard is becoming an AI company, and we're hiring an AI Solutions Engineer to drive that transformation across all teams. This is a hands-on role with a clear mission: identify high-leverage opportunities where AI can materially improve Chainguard's economics—revenue, efficiency, and quality—and build working prototypes that validate them.

Part internal consultant, part builder, you'll partner with functional owners across Engineering, GTM, Product, Operations, and beyond, along with the AI Enablement Council and AI Ambassadors. You'll move prioritized use cases from concept to validated prototype, creating internal workflow automations, reusable prompt systems, AI-enabled tools and assistants, and early integrations using approved tools while maintaining security and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify high-leverage opportunities: Conduct listening tours and current-state assessments across functions. Prioritize workflows where AI delivers outsized impact, focusing on opportunities that materially improve the revenue and operational efficiency curve.
  • Prototype and validate: Move prioritized use cases from idea to working prototype—including internal workflow automations, reusable prompt systems and templates, AI-enabled tools and assistants, and early workflow integrations—to test investment viability.
  • Partner across the business: Work directly with functional owners, the AI Enablement Council, and AI Ambassadors to understand real workflow needs, validate selected opportunities, and build the business case and evidence base for investment decisions.
  • Build responsibly: Use approved tools and follow established Legal and Security review pathways. Validate outputs, ensure clear human review, and maintain strong data hygiene. No AI tools are used on Chainguard, customer, or personal data without explicit approval.

Technical Tools

You'll work with Claude Code, the Anthropic API, Glean, and Chainguard's existing systems. This is applied tooling and building work—not research—focused on reducing friction from stalled ideas and building evidence for future investment.
