Data Analyst (Portuguese)

About This Role

Lightcast is seeking detail-oriented, data-driven professionals with strong Portuguese language skills to support the expansion of our global product features. In this role, you will help ensure we deliver accurate, high-quality data to our customers by analyzing multilingual outputs, improving classification performance, and supporting taxonomy translation and parser development.

This is a full-time independent contractor position for up to 8 months, working 40 hours per week. This role operates on a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) basis, meaning you'll use your own laptop to work remotely from anywhere.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze multilingual data outputs and validate accuracy across Portuguese and related language contexts
• Support the improvement of classification performance through detailed data quality assessment and feedback
• Contribute to taxonomy translation initiatives, ensuring terminology is accurately localized for Portuguese-speaking markets
• Assist with parser development and testing to enhance data extraction capabilities
• Identify patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for data improvement through systematic analysis
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to communicate findings and recommendations
• Document analysis processes and maintain detailed records of quality assurance work
• Support the expansion of Lightcast's global product features with localization expertise

What We're Looking For

• Native or near-native Portuguese language proficiency – essential for accurate analysis and taxonomy work
• Demonstrated experience in data analysis, quality assurance, or similar data-focused roles
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality standards
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills and logical thinking
• Familiarity with multilingual data, NLP concepts, or taxonomy systems is a plus
• Comfort with spreadsheets, databases, or data analysis tools
• Ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
