About the Role
The Global Sourcing Manager, Mechanical is the domain expert for mechanical commodities—including machining and sheet metal fabrication—for Anduril Industries. This proactive, high-impact role focuses on securing critical components, materials, and services that power the company's products. You will develop new supplier and sourcing partnerships for both new and existing products while improving technology, cost, and quality through cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute commodity strategies for mechanical fabrication, focusing on cost reduction, quality improvement, and supply chain resilience
- Own end-to-end responsibility for delivering quality parts on time and at optimal cost
- Lead RFI/RFQ/RFP and strategic sourcing processes for mechanical fabrication
- Manage business relationships with external Contract Manufacturers, ensuring supply continuity, risk management, cost negotiations, and NPI-to-MP execution
- Partner with Engineering teams and Contract Manufacturers to influence technical design specifications and manufacturing requirements
- Perform detailed cost analysis and total-cost-of-ownership (TCO) evaluations on quote submissions
- Support prototype requirements, execute against build milestones, and lead cross-functional sourcing activities
- Influence manufacturing processes, capital expenditure decisions, and technology adoption with Contract Manufacturers
- Negotiate supplier agreements establishing best-in-class pricing, quality, flexibility, delivery, warranty, and service terms
- Collaborate internally to resolve problems, manage tradeoffs, and advance new supplier or product offerings
- Provide technical direction within mechanical commodities throughout the product lifecycle
- Lead operations efforts developing new and adapted technologies for Anduril
