About the Role

The Senior Director of Global Merchant Health sits at the center of Riskified's core business: ensuring merchants achieve optimal performance, trust, and growth on the platform. This high-impact, high-visibility leadership role manages a global team of analysts who partner closely with merchants, prospects, and internal stakeholders to monitor, optimize, and scale performance across Riskified's entire portfolio.

This leader will balance deep analytical and fraud expertise with strong people leadership, business acumen, and the ability to operate comfortably in client-facing, high-pressure environments. You will serve as a subject-matter expert for complex fraud scenarios, performance optimization, and emerging trends, while implementing the processes and tooling needed to scale a global operation. Reporting directly to the Chief Customer Officer, this role is critical to Riskified's success and visibility with both internal executive leadership and strategic merchant partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead & Scale a Global Team: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-caliber global team of analysts located across New York, Tel Aviv, China, and Brazil. Build a strong team culture that thrives under pressure and values collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Optimize Merchant Performance: Drive merchant success through proactive monitoring, strategic optimization recommendations, and data-driven insights. Own the merchant health scorecard and KPI dashboard, ensuring transparency and accountability across the portfolio.
• Manage Complex Fraud Scenarios: Serve as the escalation point for complex, high-value fraud cases and policy abuse situations. Leverage deep expertise to resolve disputes, protect Riskified's guarantee, and maintain merchant trust.
• Drive Strategic Partnerships: Build and nurture relationships with Riskified's largest and most strategic merchants. Act as a trusted advisor on fraud trends, emerging risks, and platform optimization opportunities.
• Implement Scalable Processes: Design and implement repeatable processes, playbooks, and tools that enable the team to scale globally without sacrificing quality or response times. Advocate for automation and efficiency improvements.
• Analyze Trends & Insights: Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging fraud patterns. Provide executive leadership with actionable insights on merchant health, platform performance, and growth opportunities.

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of experience in fraud prevention, risk management, or ecommerce operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing geographically distributed teams.
• Deep expertise in fraud detection, chargeback management, and policy abuse prevention—demonstrable through case studies or published insights.
• Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to synthesize data into clear, actionable recommendations for C-level executives and merchant stakeholders.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams in fast-paced, complex environments.
• Strong communication and presentation skills; comfort presenting to executive audiences and strategic merchant partners.
• Experience managing vendor or partner relationships at scale; comfort with multi-regional operational complexity.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with appetite for building new processes and tools from the ground up.
