About the Role
Join Accela's cross-functional regional Sales team as an Account Executive responsible for managing the entire sales cycle—from prospecting and qualifying to closing deals and expanding mid-sized opportunities. This role demands a strong sense of urgency and proactive approach, with consistent focus on pipeline growth and building your book of business across a designated market.
Territory: Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, Arkansas, Nebraska, Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full sales cycles for mid-size jurisdictions, including prospecting, qualifying, negotiating, and closing deals
- Maintain and grow revenue from existing customers by selling and cross-selling solutions into new departments
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers in prospect and customer organizations
- Identify customer needs and tailor solutions accordingly
- Maintain accurate CRM forecasts and opportunity records
- Lead and contribute to RFP responses
- Collaborate with Marketing and Product teams to ensure customer satisfaction
- Meet annual sales targets
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2–5 years of sales experience, preferably selling software to state and local governments
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Strong sense of urgency, accountability, and time management
- Proficiency with CRM software and sales tools
- Experience qualifying opportunities and forecasting accurately
- Ability to travel 50%+ annually
