We're rebuilding our core petitions platform from the ground up and launching new tools to identify shared solutions across the political spectrum, mobilizing hundreds of millions to advocate for common-ground issues.

The Role

You'll join our Engineering team as AI Architect, reporting to our CTO. This is a technical leadership role where you'll drive AI adoption org-wide through technical authority, hands-on work, and cross-team influence—not through management.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical direction for AI adoption: Define standards, architecture patterns, and tooling choices governing how engineers use AI across the codebase, including codebase readiness investments versus targeted rewrites.
• AI-Native Transformation roadmap: Own execution of the multi-milestone plan (readiness → validated → governed) in partnership with squad leads, without direct management authority.
• Platform and tooling capability: Determine what AI tooling, agent infrastructure, and evaluation pipelines the organization needs; build or oversee builds for missing solutions.
• Guardrails for safe adoption: Establish policy and technical controls for human-in-the-loop review requirements versus autonomous agent actions (PR review, deployment), balancing adoption speed with security and quality.
• Standards authorship and enforcement: Write actionable guidance engineers actually use—conventions, review norms for AI-generated code, evaluation standards—and ensure adoption through organizational alignment.
