Job Description

About the Role

Change.org, the world's largest platform for democracy, is hiring an FP&A Lead to deliver the financial clarity leadership needs to invest boldly in our mission. You'll own financial planning and analysis end-to-end—building reporting, models, and forecasts that drive strategic decisions. This is a principal-level, individual contributor role reporting to the VP of Finance, offering high ownership and real autonomy.

At a time when global dissatisfaction with democracy is at an all-time high, we're investing heavily in AI-powered tools to give people greater voice and bring across the political spectrum together to identify shared solutions. Our core petitions platform serves over 100 million people annually and is being rebuilt from the ground up. We're also launching a new platform to identify the 80%+ of issues most people agree on and mobilize hundreds of millions to advocate for common-ground solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Automate departmental and executive reporting end-to-end. Build durable, repeatable, low-touch pipelines for management P&Ls, executive dashboards, and board exhibits—eliminating manual rebuilds while accounting maintains statutory/audit compliance.
  • Operate the full financial model with minimal oversight. Architect and run integrated financial models including revenue from BI and full ownership of expense side (opex, margins, variance). Stress-test assumptions, run scenarios, and own final numbers with high executive trust.
  • Architect AI-enabled FP&A workflows. Systematically reduce manual effort and improve data quality by building sustainable processes that scale beyond individual analysts.
  • Partner strategically with leadership and budget owners. Drive accountability through influence—surfacing variances, flagging risks, and bringing analytical perspective to departmental spend decisions.
  • Translate numbers into decisions. Transform variance and business-health analysis into clear insights that inform leadership strategy.

What We're Looking For

Sharp analytical judgment, strong business sense, and fluent use of AI to work faster and build lasting processes. You thrive in high-ownership roles and operate effectively with autonomy. Experience with financial modeling, reporting automation, and cross-functional leadership alignment is essential.
