The Role
We're seeking a Senior Social Media Specialist to own Change.org Japan's daily social media presence and significantly grow our social impact. You'll report to our Communications Manager, Japan, and serve as a key member of the Communications team.
Key Responsibilities
- Own daily social media content creation with primary focus on Instagram
- Create timely, newsworthy static social assets and short-form video with viral potential
- Grow Change.org Japan's social presence and promote petitions aligned with our open-platform reputation
- Develop and execute influencer engagement strategy to support priority campaigns
- Ensure content output aligns with the global social media team's overall strategy
Core Competencies
- Multimedia Journalism: Experience in news media as a reporter or similar role, with proven skills in interviewing, photography, video recording, writing, and editing
- Social Content Production: Ability to create compelling static social assets in fast-paced environments
- Video Production: Experience creating short-form video content optimized for social platforms
- Platform Expertise: Deep understanding of Instagram and broader social media landscape
- Civic Engagement: Passion for democracy, civic participation, and social impact
Salary & Compensation
